Understand Why Insurance is Not Risk Management

Join us next week for this free class.
New from Insurance Journal's Academy of Insurance. Instructed by Chris Boggs, author of "Insurance is Not Risk Management: The Insurance Professional's Guide to Risk Management and Insurance".

Space is limited. Register Today.

Many in the insurance industry seem to think that insurance is, within and of itself, equal to risk management. But in reality, insurance is one and only one tool used to manage the risks faced by every one of your clients, whether they are commercial or personal lines customers.

The Insurance Journal Academy of Insurance developed and is leading a series detailing risk management with a specific focus on how insurance fits into the overall risk management process. It is called, "Beyond Basic Training." The 9-part series begins on Thursday, September 22, 2011, and runs every Thursday through November 17.

Topics covered in the series include:

  • Risk and its Relationship to Insurance;
  • Risk Management Theory and Application;
  • Truly Understanding the Insurance Mechanism;
  • Public and Private Risk Sharing and Transfer;
  • How is the Insurance Industry Regulated;
  • The Legal and Contractual Aspects of Insurance;
  • Insurance for Legal Liability Arising out of Negligence; and
  • How to Read and Understand ANY Insurance Policy

For more information on each class, you can tour the full class web page.

HOWEVER, you have the opportunity to hear the principles that will be taught in this series - FREE. On September 9, the Academy of Insurance is leading a one-hour class on risk management theory and where insurance fits. In essence, you get to try the series before you buy it.

Immediately following this free class, all participants receive a special discount code you can use when you register for series. The code cuts $200 from the cost of the full nine-part series.

Sign up for the September 9 preview session today. Remember, participants in the September 9 session receive special access to a discount code good for $200 of the series. Plus, participants in the whole series receive a free electronic copy of our newest book, "Insurance is Not Risk Management: The Insurance Professional's Guide to Risk Management and Insurance."

We hope you'll join us next week. Register today for access.

If you have any questions, send me an email at webcasts@insurancejournal.com.
